Battlefield Battle Royale Map finally drops

The “Battlefield” series is finally getting in on the Battle Royale action, as the game officially released “Battlefield: REDSEC” on October 28th. Now that the game is out for players to enjoy, we’re starting to learn more about the game’s first map; Fort Lyndon.

It’s set in a fictionalized part of Southern California, with a mixture of environments for players to enjoy. The map has 20 unique locations, ranging from urban encounters to wastelands to battles in the mountains. Officials say it’s the largest map ever in a “Battlefield” game.

“REDSEC” also offers a different take on a Battle Royale staple; the storm circle. Unlike games like “Fortnite,” “Call of Duty: Warzone,” and “Apex: Legends” – “REDSEC’s” storm circle is a ring of fire that kills players instantly upon being touched by the circle. Officials say this is to cut down on players abusing the storm to gain a better position on the map, like some other Battle Royale games.

“Battlefield: REDSEC” is currently available for players to download on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The game is free-to-play, and players don’t need to purchase a copy of “Battlefield 6” to get in on the fun. However, gamers can take advantage of shared progress if they “Battlefield 6,” as their weapons and skins will be available in “REDSEC.”
